How does a Pellet Grill work?
Z Grills uses a powerful auger to feed wood pellets from the hopper into a steel burning pot in controlled intervals where they are lit by a high temperature ignition rod and fanned by a powerful electric fan into flame. This process delivers the appropriate temperate established at the control panel, regulated by the controller.
What is the minimum and maximum operational temperature?
The Pellet operates from 180°F to 450°F comfortably.
Why is there smoke between the cook box and the funnel?
When the pellets are loaded into the hopper, the pellets will fall between the right side of the cooking box and the left side of the hopper. This space acts as a buffer between the cooking box and the pellets inside the hopper. Over time, this may cause certain pellets to come into contact with the outside of the cookware box and smoke and start to smoke. To avoid this, please always check, clean and prepare your pellet grill.
Why is there smoke under my pellet smoker?
If your grill is brand new, or you have recently cleaned the burner, when the pellets start to burn, air will escape from under the grill. This is completely normal. Once the fine ash covers the screening mechanism, the smoke will stop flowing in that direction. Remember to drain the ash remover regularly. As a precaution, please check the following.
How much ash does the Z Grills Pellet Grill produce?
In fact, one 20 lb. (9 kg) bag of pellets may only produce ½ of an ash cup full of ash or from 1 to 3% if its original volume. It’s very complete combustion.
Is the fan operating normally?
Are the internal grease tray and baffle assembly installed correctly?
Does the burning pot support the auger without burning?
Are your pellets saturated with moisture and can only smoke?
Is the Z Grills pellet smoker insulated?
Yes it is. The Z Grills pellet smoker has excellent thermal insulation, allowing you to bake with less fuel. That being said, the oven cools slowly.
Can I use the Z Grills pellet grills indoors?
No. All our products have passed safety tests and are only allowed to be used outdoors.
What kind of pellets should I use for my pellet grill?
You can use Z Grills brand pellets or other cooking grade pellets on your Pellet Grill. Do not use heating pellets for wood stoves because they may contain harmful or undesirable flavors.
What is the purpose of the small door on the back of the hopper?
The trap door on the back of the hopper is a quick exit for the pellets. When you smoke for more than a week, throw it away. Pills absorb water easily, and if left outside for a long time, they will decompose into a slurry. We recommend that you always use trapdoors to empty the pellet hopper before storing pellets or leaving them unattended for more than a few days.
What do I do in the event of a grease fire?
If a grease fire occurs, turn off the pellet grill, unplug the power plug from the source, and then close the lid. Without extra effort, the small fire will go out. Clean the internal components of the grill regularly to avoid grease from catching fire. In addition, after encountering grease fire, be sure to clean the grille. In case of using baking soda or a fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire, do not use water to extinguish the grease fire.
What is the warranty on my Z Pellet Grill?
3-year limited warranty, backed by a company with over 30 years of grilling expertise.
